In Tienjin (Tiensin) , lives another well known collector: Mr. Wang. He is vice president of "China ornamental stone"organization and he is the owner of Tianjin Qinianwan Rare stone museum. In China the big collectors tend to build a personal museum, often compound by several floor buildings where they exhibit their stones. That is a status simbol, but the collectionism at this level is so expensive that Mr. Wang, in order to keep and develop his collection decided to transform his museum into a restaurant. So the 4 floors are interely occpied by private rooms to eat surrounded by the stones. |
He told me that he discovere a new king of Tibetan stone, colled Tibetan porcelain stone. Here in Chine, the collectors like to discover and collect new materials, so he set off for Tibet with magazines showing stones and made a search for three months. At the beginning the findings where not very good until he find the right location to dig such a precious stones. The two stones in the first picture behind him are Tibetan stones.
His stones are usually small for the Chinese market, and comes from all over China. The Daiza are very beautiful showing a refined taste. Unfortunately the photos I took are of poor quality, I had to take tham on the evening, with flash light and the stones are usually inside niches.
